Aggregate Industries choose Elite smart meters to help reduce emissions
Aggregate Industries the supplier of construction and building products including well known brands such as Bradstone® and Charcon® has selected a PRI sub metering system for its Hulland Ward site near Ashbourne in Derbyshire.

The system in use at the Hulland Ward site comprises PRI Elite panel mounted electricity meters together with the new Pocket Power View (PPV) hand held meter reading device. PPV is used to download half hourly survey data from each meter and then export the data for analysis using an industry standard spreadsheet. The data can be used to identify not just where electricity is being consumed but also how much and when, vital information for spotting waste energy consumption.
Site Services Manager Phil Montgomery selected the PRI system because it was low cost yet powerful and flexible. "I wanted a system that meant maintenance staff would need to visit the sub stations, collect data and check that everything including the switchgear was in good order".
In addition to its primary function the PRI system offers two additional benefits. Firstly the Elite meters act as data loggers so that other pulsing utility meters can be connected, logged and monitored and secondly all of the important electrical parameters such as voltage, current and power can be viewed and logged to providing a valuable tool for identifying power distribution problems.
