PRI Bureau Service provided to Odyssey in Northern Ireland
PRI's Bureau Service automatically reads the electricity meters installed at the prestigious Odyssey Complex, Northern Ireland's premier entertainment and education centre.
Accurate meter readings are taken remotely by PRI from each of the 37 units. PRI use the data collected to produce monthly bills that are then sent to the Odyssey Trust Company who in turn distribute the bills to each of their tenants. PRI has successfully operated this service for the last 5 years and provide the systems and resources required to remotely read meters and produce bills. If changes need to be made to the system set up, or on a very rare occasion if a problem occurs with remote access to meters, the PRI Bureau Services technical support team is on hand to help.
System and service overview
PRI Sprint and Premier Ofgem - approved meters are fitted to the individual tenant supplies.A dedicated PACTLAN metering data network is also installed, and connects all the meters to the main control room. The network is connected to a PC in the management company's offices, the PC runs PRI's EASEII energy management software to collect half-hourly consumption data from all the meters. PRI provide a bureau service by accessing the system over a VPN (Virtual Private Network thus reducing the processing burden on the management company. The bills are produced by replicating the tariff from the Centre's Energy Supplier, taking into account shared usage and seasonal tariff rates. Completed bills are transmitted electronically to the management company, along with a summary report showing the correlation between the individual bills and the total site bill. New tenants can be added to the system, or changes made to it, with a simple telephone call to PRI. Local support is provided by JB Electrical who installed the meters and network and who are now responsible for maintaining it. Individual bill templates are provided by PRI for each tenant, allowing for differing contracts and changes in the shared components across the site; there by providing total flexibility. PRI also sends consumption reports to the major users, based upon half-hourly data. This enables them to manage their energy use more effectively, resulting in greater cost control. An indication of the of the level of satisfaction provided is given in the following statement from Julie Anne Gillen of the Odyssey Trust:
"The Odyssey Complex has used the EASEII Software to generate Electricity bills for its tenants on a monthly basis, since opening five years ago. The system has operated effectively and the service provided by PRI has been excellent. We would have no issue with recommending the EASEII software or PRI to any potential customers."
