Pay as you Go - Innovative Energy Prepayment system
Providing electricity customers with a low cost, convenient and tokenless method of paying for their electricity as they use it.
The system comprises of a Liberty keypad credit management meter and a Freedom remote keypad and display.
The Liberty meter and its associated remote Freedom display are designed to provide customers with a user-friendly informative interface when paying for and using electricity. The remote Freedom display allows customers to view this information at a convenient location within their home.
All displays are preceded by plain English text with customers having access to a wide range of consumption and cost data. Customers can view current consumption costs or historical daily, weekly and monthly costs. The meter will even calculate the number of days credit remaining based on average weekly consumption costs.
User friendly features such as audio visual low credit alarms, non-disconnection at night, weekends and public holidays and even load limiting can be provided.
The low cost tokenless pay as you go system allows customers to vend to their meters from a variety of sources such as shops, the Internet and even via Internet enabled mobile phones. Unlike current prepayment systems lost Liberty codes are easily reproducible from any source irrespective of where they were originally generated and customers can continue vending to their meter - something that is not possible with current token based prepayment systems.
